The letter came out of the G7 Global Taskforce Strategy Meeting which took place on the 1st & 2nd February in Rome in an effort to influence the G7 Health Experts. The letter calls for a Global Partnership or Alliance for UHC which can drive global momentum, raises concern about the proposed Pandemic Emergency Finance Facility and calls for the G7 to lead the process of the fifth replenishment of the Global Fund to ensure it is fully-funded.
The Health Experts are from all the G7 countries and will discuss and influence the final outcomes of the Ise-Shima Summit on health. Their first meeting is on the 18th & 19th February in Japan with a second meeting scheduled for sometime in March.
